About Dr. Filiberto Cedeno Laurent, MD, PhD
After obtaining his medical degree from Escuela de Medicina Ignacio A. Santos (Monterrey, Mexico), Dr. Cedeno Laurent joined the Institute of Human Virology at the University of Maryland to pursue a post-doctoral research fellowship on HIV-related skin conditions. He became so passionate about the role of the immune system in the development of skin disorders that he became the first Mexican national to receive a doctorate degree in Immunology at Harvard Medical School.
After the completion of his PhD, Dr. Cedeno Laurent trained as a dermatologist at the University of Pennsylvania, the oldest and one of the most prestigious dermatology departments in the United States. Dr. Cedeno Laurent completed a one-year fellowship in cutaneous oncology (skin cancer) and has concentrated his latest efforts in the field of procedural and cosmetic dermatology.
Having received numerous national and international awards, his research has been presented in numerous conferences around the world and his work has been cited by nearly 700 scientific publications.
Dr. Cedeno Laurent enjoys spending time with his family, playing tennis and traveling around the world. He is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery and the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery.
Dr. Cedeno Laurent speaks English and Spanish and accepts a large variety of medical insurance plans. He is committed to work with referring providers to accommodate patients with urgent medical necessities to be seen promptly.

I’ve been going to Dr. Cedeno Laurent for a few years now. He has helped me with my hyperpigmentation and the treatment and results are amazing. With the medication and dedication on following my treatment plan I’ve been able to get the hyperpigmentation under control practically gone. It still feels so amazing to wake-up to a clear face. My skin feels and looks so good. I still get compliments on how good my skin looks. The best part is I don’t have to wear full coverage make-up or no make-up at all. I’m loving it!Dr. Cedeno only recommends what you need. He listens to your concerns and has great side manners. He also only recommends what he feels you need as the patient and not try to sell you different products or procedures you don’t really need. My son has been visiting this office for about four years now. Each visit is organized competently and without tedious waiting. The doctor's recommendations are always structured clearly and professionally, without fanaticism. It's easy to follow his laid out plan. My son got rid of active acne on his face, knows how to cope with eczema if it becomes active, and knows how to properly take care of his scalp. I recommend it.
